Five questions with
LOLA MIGNOT
JW: Where were you born, and what ethnicity are you?
LM: I was born in Paris, but my mom is French, and my dad is Spanish-Argentine; I'm a blend of both. However, Mexico holds a special place in my heart—it is where I grew up and learned everything.
JW: How do your multicultural roots shape your life today, and in what ways do they impact your approach to life and surfing?
LM: Being part of a big traveling family has taken me around the world. We never stayed in one place as a child for over five months. Traveling became my school of life, and it continues to shape who I am. Surfing is a form of free expression born from those experiences.
JW: What do you want to express through your surfing?
LM: I aim to express my uniqueness.
JW: Do you have any other passions or interests, and how do they intersect or influence your surfing?
LM: Yes! Cooking has become a newfound passion of mine. I love creating beautiful, colorful, delicious dishes for my loved ones. Additionally, I've been making jewelry since I was a child; it runs in the family. These passions complement my surfing, offering different avenues for creativity and expression.
JW: What excited you about joining the July Wetsuits community?
LM: Everything! July isn't just a wetsuit brand—it's a growing family. It's filled with creative, fun, and unique individuals, and I'm thrilled to be a part of it.
